EPISODE GUIDE

1-1. "Wedding Belle Blues" 1/21/96 & 1/23/96
Reese Burton is about to get married to her fianceé Travis Petersen, who is having an affair with Peyton "Bunny" Richards, the Burton family maids daughter and Reeses best friend. Travis lies to Peyton and says that he'll leave Reese after they are married, so that he can get a divorce, but he plans to stay with Reese.
Tom Massick and Veronica Kowslovski plans to steal all of Burton's money and Tom sets an eye for Reese.
Lane MacKenzie returns home for the wedding, after living in N.Y. for a couple of years, working for the NY Times. She reunites with Dean Collins, who has been left with his 4-year old son, after his wife left him.
Reese and Travis gets married, but Peyton slips a inscribed bracelet that she'd gotten from Travis among the wedding gifts. Reese leaves Travis, but Travis convinces her that it's just a mean prank. Peyton's mother Lucille knows that it was Peyton who gave Reese the bracelet.
Lane tries to get her money out of the bank, but according to them, there is no money. With help of Dean, they find out that Travis has been posing as Mr. Lane MacKenzie.
Peyton hires a big-chested girl to pretend to be "Bunny" and Reese sees her and leaves Travis...AGAIN! Travis is enraged and goes over to the bar, where Peyton works and confronts her. He hits her with a phone and she hits him back with a bottle of tequila. Peyton thinks he's dead and drives off with his body, but gets a flat tire and Dean sees her and offers his help. Peyton lies that she doesn't have another tire, because Travis' body is in the backseat. They go down to the gas station and when Peyton opens the trunk, Travis' body is gone.

1-2. "Sex, Pies and Videotape" 2/4/96
Travis is found dead in the river and the police think it was an accident. Peyton finds out from one of Travis' buddy's that he used to tape every girl he'd ever been with. Peyton finds the video and Lucille catches Peyton seeing it and is ashamed. Lane decides to stay in Savannah, but first go with Reese on her honeymoon, but is stopped by Dean, who says that Travis' death wasn't an accident, they think it's murder.
Edward gambles away the riverboat to Tom.

1-3. "Who Killed Travis?" 2/11/96
Tom wants to stay in Savannah to get revenge on the Burtons. The girl that Peyton hired to be Bunny returns and tries to blackmail her, but Peyton gets rid of her. Lane is arrested by Dean and Reese bails her out. They both move into Reeses mother's old house. Dean does some investigating and finds out that Lucille killed Travis - to protect Reese and Edward. In jail, she tells Peyton the truth, Travis where going to blackmail Edward because he's Peytons father.

1-4. "The Purloined Letter" 2/18/96
Peyton schemes, so that Reese and Edward becomes enemies and gets him to take Reese out of the will. Edward and Veronica gets a little too friendly.
Lane and Dean sleeps together and the next morning, Jeannie(Deans wife) comes back.
Reese starts working as a waitress at the river-boat and Peyton moves in with Reese and Lane.
Later, when Peyton is picking her stuff at the Burton's mansion, she over hears that Edward plans to take Peyton and Lucille out of his will too. Ed later goes out to the garage, where he accindently sets the place on fire and is blown into a bookcase. Peyton sees this, will she help him?

1-5. "Where There's Smoke, There's Fire" 2/25/96
Veronica arrives at the mansion and Peyton is forced to save Edward. They take him to the hospital, where he makes up with Reese. Peyton gets suspicious of Veronica and looks her up. She finds out that Veronica and Tom where "partners". Peyton blackmails Tom, to make her a partner in the riverboat.
Meanwhile, Tom's brother Vincent comes back from jail and Tom does anything to help him, but as it turns out; he's the one that put him in jail. Jeannie and Dean reunite, much to Lane's dismay, who gets a job at a local newspaper.

1-6. "Information, Please" 3/3/96
Veronica and Tom make indecent proposals to their respective Burtons, one of which stokes Vincent's jealousy; Lane uncovers Jeannie's private affairs after Jeannie warns her to stay away from Dean. Meanwhile, Lucille shares the Gothic history of Massick-Burton relations with Peyton; and Edward is shocked to learn of Veronica's own equally torrid past.

1-7. "Playing With The Enemy" 3/10/96
Veronica blows Tom's cover to protect herself from Edward's accusations; Dean learns the truth about Jeannie with the help of Lane, his son and Jeannie's mother; and Vincent offers to fill Reese in on the background of her newest fiancee's intentions. Meanwhile, Peyton confronts Tom about his childhood, then teams with him in business...and pleasure.

1-8. "Prince Of Lies" 3/17/96
Edward's senatorial campaign is jeopardized by Lane's story about his affair with Veronica, together with Lucille's letter of confession to Reese about daddy's other little girl. Meanwhile, Jason objects to Dean's relationship with Lane; Tom gets a third partner on the eve of the riverboat casino's grand opening.

1-9. "From Here To Paternity" 3/24/96
The dramatic opening of Lucille's trial tests the friendship of Reese, Peyton and Lane; Peyton's hotshot lawyer offers a new theory about Travis's murder, which gains legitimacy from Lane's reporting and Tom's testimony. Meanwhile, Reese comes between the Massick brothers; another paternity test is ordered.

1-10. "Creep Throat" 3/31/96
A mysterious source feeds Lane disturbing tips about Dean's role in Travis's murder investigation; Edward is forced to admit his guilt to one daughter, breaking the other's heart. Meanwhile, Vincent relocates after Veronica visits him in prison; and things heat up between Peyton and Brian, whose political agenda may prove to be Edward's biggest worry.

1-11. "The Truth, The Whole Truth, And Nothing But The Truth" 4/7/96 - Season Finale
Lane and Jason finally become friends, but Jack is out for revenge and tries to kidnap Jason, but takes Lane instead. Lucille is free from the murder charges of Travis, but shows up drunk at a dinner with Brians mother, embarrissing Peyton. Brians mother tells Peyton that she's low-class. Veronica sets a trap for Tom, but Reese falls into it. Lucille goes over to Edward, holding a gun against his head. Peyton is on her way in when she is confronted by Travis.

Second Season

2-1. "Dead Man Walking" 8/26/96 & 9/16/96
Travis turns out to be Nick Corelli, Travis' long-lost brother, who came to meet him. He finds out that Peytons mother murdered Travis and gets mad at Peyton and Reese. Later, Nick is attacked by a couple of thugs, who thinks he's Travis. Lucille holds Edward hostage in his mansion with the gun, but later reveals that it only had 1 "scare" bullet and Lucille just wanted to see him suffer.

2-2. "Pearls Before The Swine" 9/23/96
A tragedy ruins the captive Lane's hopes for escape; and Eleanor sets out to tarnish Peyton's image, although Brian's father takes a shine to her. Meanwhile, Tom makes a deal to implicate Veronica in Reese's drug bust; Nick and Peyton learn of the emerald's whereabouts; Dean and Reese grieve together after a friend's "death."

2-3. "The Family Jewels" 9/30/96
Reese and Dean hears the message that says that her credit card has been used and starts searching for her again. Lane tries to escape, but one of the snakes get out and Dean arrives just in time to save her. Nick gives to emerald to the police. Brian proposes to Peyton. Tom steals evidence to help free Reese from the drug charges. Eleanor gets some incrimating photos of Peyton and Nick.

2-4. "A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words" 10/7/96
Dean and Lane gets the impression from Jason that he doesn't want him to marry Lane, but what he really means is that it's dumb to wait a whole year. The charges against Reese is dropped; thanks to Tom. But Reese lusts for Nick. Edward says that Peyton and he has made up at one of his conferences, but is really blackmailed. Brian sees the photo of Peyton and Nick kissing and breaks up with her. Peyton figures it out that it was Eleanor who sent the pictures to Brian.

2-5. "My Fair Ladies" 10/14/96
Peyton walks in on Brian wedding with his ex. She is enraged and plans to make Eleanor pay, by stealing her husband! Edwards adviser says that Edward should dump Veronica and tells Veronica that he should keep their affair a secret; she throws him out. Later, a leak is discovered at the office and Edward thinks it's Veronica, but it's really his secretary and Tom. Lane and Dean plans their wedding. Reeses fantasies comes true.

2-6. "Vengeance Is Mine" 10/21/96
Lanes old fianceé Terry arrives and Dean is jealouse. Later, Terry admits that he's only there because Lane is. Edward is accused of taking brides from "One Pac" and is panicked. Reese and Nick plans a set-up for the leak and they find out that it's his secretary. Peyton continues her flirting with Charles and they share a kiss and a tape-recorded talk about their passions for eachother. Later, Peyton wants to buy Reeses share of the boat, but doesn't have the money and thinks of Charles and the tape on the Alexanders answering machine. Veronica and Edward reunite. Edward is shot at a conference, but it was all for the campaign, planned by him and Veronica.

2-7. "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad Boat" 10/28/96
Peyton turns of the power at the Alexander's so that no one can hear. While they're out checking the power, Peyton takes the tape and hides it in her office. She and Charles have a short affair, until he finds the tape and breaks up with her. Tom finds out about the fake shooting on Edward and blackmails him. Edward and Veronica plans to make it look like Tom tried to burn the boat down. Lane is enraged at Terry for lying to her. Later, Dean sees Terry kiss Lane good-bye and gets the wrong idea. Nick buys Reeses share of the river-boat and they celebrate in the office, by having sex. The boat is put on fire by a scum, hired by Edward, while Reese and Nick are sleeping on a sofa!

2-8. "Burn, Baby, Burn" 11/4/96
Tom sees the fire on the boat and puts it out and wakes up Reese and Nick. Edward finds out Reese was on the boat and thinks she's dead. Reese finds out that her father was the one to put the boat on fire and swears to make him pay! Lane and Dean has an argument over the kiss, but they make up. Peyton takes half of the reward for Centurion, so that Nick can't buy the riverboat. Reese questions her father about river-run.

2-9. "Diary of A Mad, Rich Wife" 11/11/96
Nick buys the river-boat and Peyton finds out that he's from a rich family and suddenly is super-nice to Nick. Peyton plants an earring in Nicks bed that makes Reese think that he's having an affair with Veronica. Reese tries to save the factory from closing, but Edward still closes the factory. Their old friend Cassie Wheeler arrives and takes an unusual interest in Burton industries. She also gets a job at the river-boat and fights with her father. Lane starts a new article on Burton. Eleanor cancels Lanes story on Burton. Tom finds Reeses mothers diary and gives it to Reese; it tells her that there is another will. Edward sells the river-run factory to Eleanor.

2-10. "Golly, Aunt Lottie" 11/18/96
Peyton makes so that Nick and her is locked in the storageroom on the riverboat and they sleep together. Reese looks for her mother's other will and finds it in an old painting. It says that she owns 50% of Burton Industries. Eleanor fires Lane. Reese mets Veronica and sees that she has both her earrings. She goes over to Nicks and interupts him and Peyton in bed. Cassie continues investigate Burton Industries. Cassie and her partner finds fake money. Lane and Dean is in a car crash.

2-11. "The Battle Of Midway" 11/25/96
Lane and Dean is fine after the crash, but Lane gets some pills for her arm. Lane eats way to many pills. Cassies partner goes over to the river-run factory and is confronted by Cassies father, who thinks he's harrassing her. They are confronted by some thugs. Reese and Nick reunite and Tom & Peyton plans to make them jealouse.

2-12. "It's Never Too Late" 12/2/96
Tom and Peyton continues their plan on making Reese and Nick jealouse-Their plan is working perfectly!They admit to eachother that the only reason they want Reese and Nick is for the money.Cassie and Dean rescues Cassies dad and partner,but Cassie is fired from the police squad,but gets approaced by a music agent,who wants her to record a CD.Lane is getting more addicted to drugs as she steals some recipes from her doctor.Eleanor and Edward gets accused of doing false money,but it was really Eleanors husband who did it,but he dies in a plane crash,when he leaves the country.Edward proposes to Eleanor,so they don't have to testify against eachother.

2-13. "The Love Will Never Die" 12/9/96
Right after the funeral for Charles,Eleanor marries Edward,who later calls his kids to tell them the news of their marriage.Veronica finds out and breaks up with Edward.Tom and Peyton pretends to break up with eachother and Nick hits Tom in front of Reese's eyes,so she dumps him.Nick goes to Veronica,hoping for help to bring down Tom.Lane's pill addiction gets worse,but Dean thinks it pre-wedding jitters. Cassie's agent is in some deep trouble.

2-14. "Get Me To The Church On Time" 12/16/96
Lane starts mixing her drugs with alchohol and it increases the effect.Dean is still clueless. Tom and Reese starts dating eachother again,and so does Peyton and Nick!Veronica forgives Edward.Nick finds a woman from Tom's past.Cassie starts dating her scummy manager.
Just before Lane's wedding,she wanders into the wrong hotelroom and takes an overdose.

2-15. "Dressed To Shill" 1/6/97
Everybody figures out that Lane has a drug problem,after she misses her wedding and wants to help.Lane doesn't want any help and tries every way to get drugs,Dean wovs to help.Cassie figures out that her manager only wants her money and breaks it off.That woman that Nick brought in,turns out to be Tom's ex-wife that he took all her money from.Peyton dresses up as Lane and pretends to be shocked when she hears that.Tom proposes to Peyton.Veronica and Nick brings in an prostitute,Rita,that pretends to need help at Second Chances,but they really plans to bring down Edward and Eleanor.Dean gets an annoying new partner.

2-16. "Every Picture Tells A Story" 1/13/97
Veronica tapes her and Edward having sex and with help off a computer,she and Nick replaces the picture of her with a picture off Rita.Rita goes to the police and says that Edward forced her to have sex and Eleanor didn't mind.Lane goes to a help-group for her problems and gets Dean's new partner as a "mentor".Tom and Peyton plans to get him and Reese married.Tom takes Reese up to a resort,gets her drunk and Peyton dresses up as Reese and they get married in a little chapel.BUT,during the wedding,the ministers wife takes photos and finds one that she forgot in her pocket and plans to mail it to that "lovley" woman...

2-17. "The Morning After" 1/20/97
Reese finds out she's married to Tom and wants an annulment, but changes her mind when Tom plays a softie. Veronica sends the fake pictures of Edward and Rita Whinsler to "Savannah Weekly", the only paper Eleanor doesn't own, Lane also gets a work there. Cassies father wants to fix her up with Sam. They both lie to eachother about being sick, but meets eachother at Casablanca. Peyton makes Tom break into Nicks apartment, so that he'll move to another. Their plan succeds and Peyton moves in with him. At the same time, Nicks' old flame Sonny Lee arrives to town.

2-18. "The Gal To Marry Dad" 2/3/97
We learn why Sonny Lee is back in town...she's marrying Nick's father and Peyton feels threathened by Sonny Lee's presence. Reese finally sees the picture of Peyton posing as Reese, marrying Tom. Nick and his dad is not getting along very well and Peyton wants them to try to be friends because his father is loaded. Rita lies to Edward about being hired by Eleanor to create a scandal, but he figures out that it was Veronica who set him up. Nick and Sonny Lee makes out in Toms room on the boat, but daddy and Peyton walks in on them and dad promises to cut off Nick forever.

2-19. "Code Blue" 2/10/97
Peyton wants Nick to apologize to his father, but Nick doesn't want to. Sonny Lee tries to explain what happened to daddy, but he doesn't belive her and changes his will; where Nick isn't in, which he mentions to Peyton before getting a major heart attack. Dying, in the hospital, daddy wants to marry Sonny Lee, but dies before the ceremony is finished. Reese sets out to get revenge on Peyton and Tom. Sam starts getting mystery calls that he doesn't answer. Sonny Lee burns the will that Nick isn't in.

2-20. "Where There's A Will..." 2/17/97
Sam gets notes and tells that his wife died in prison thanks to him; and that's why he's getting all these notes. At the same time, a mysterious man arrives in Savannah. Reese decides not to hire a lawyer to get revenge. Peyton gets Sonny Lee out of Savannah and gets back together with Nick. Veronica gets a hold of Eleanors dog and blackmails her into giving her the family jewels. Veronica takes off to Barbados.

2-21. "Oh No Mr.Bill" & "I don't" - Season(Series) Finale 2/24/97
Reese wants a real wedding with Tom and Nick proposes to Peyton, but as it turns out, she and Nick are planning to expose Tom and Peyton for their schemes. Their plans are almost ruined when the minister turns out to be the one who married Tom and Peyton! But they're saved by some quick lies. At the wedding, which is a double, Reese and Nick tells everybody Peyton and Tom's schemes. Tom and Peyton decide to go down to Paris, but Tom gets a call from Veronica, who says she has a new potential "client" for a scham, but it's a lie to get him out of Savannah. Peyton is furious and swears that she will make Reese pay.
Edward gets the computer disk from Veronica, that shows that the pictures are fake. Veronica leaves Edward, forever.
Cassie is almost killed by Bill, but is saved by Sam and her dad.
Dean and Lane finally get married.
